Fluffy American Buttercream

 4 sticks unsalted butter, slightly cooler than room temp
 5 cups powdered sugar
 3 tbsp heavy cream
 2 tbsp vanilla bean paste
 ¼ tsp salt

In a bowl fitted for a stand mixer, beat butter with paddle attachment until light in color and fluffy. Stop and scrape sides occasionally.

Once butter is light and fluffy, add salt, vanilla bean paste, and 1 cup of powdered sugar. Beat on medium speed until incorporated.

Add 1 Tbsp of heavy cream and beat until incorporated, alternate 1 cup of powdered sugar and 1 tbsp heavy cream until full amounts are incorporated.

Once all of the powdered sugar and heavy cream is incorporated, beat on medium high speed for several minutes until buttercream is smooth, light, and fluffy. Makes enough to fill and cover one two layer 9 in cake.
